New Basic Black Ink Pads

Have you tried our new fabulous firm foam ink pads? I absolutely love the new pads for greater and easier coverage on all my favorite Stampin' Up! stamps and the projects I've been using them on! We're talking LOVE!

However, there's been a problem with the new Basic Black Ink Pads and the Ink Refill formula. EEKS! It smears on the Whisper White & Very Vanilla cardstocks we currently stock. Stampin' Up! is working as hard and fast as they can to resolve this issue, but haven't come up with a solution to the problem just yet. For now, continue to enjoy using the Basic Black ink pad (firm foam edition) on all your colored cardstock favorites from Stampin' Up! When you want to use it on the Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstocks, we're recommending Jet Black StazOn Ink pad we sell instead. The StazOn is an alcohol-based ink, instead of water-based like our Classic Stampin' Pads, so it won't bleed when you want to use blender pens or aqua painters on a stamped image, especially on the white and vanilla colors.

Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad November 15, 2012
Updated from August 27 posting
In a current update on July 5, we reported that the Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad (item 126980) ink smears, especially when stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock. Our supplier has continued to develop several ink formulas, and we have continued to test these formulas, but with no success so far. We know this creates a problem for you and for your customers. In addition to testing ink formulas, we have tested many variations of card stock and want to make sure that we find the right combination of ink and card stock. We want to provide a quality product, so we will continue to work on it. It is our top priority quality concern right now.
In the interim, we suggest that you promote the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad (item 101406)--it is an excellent alternative. If customers request the Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad, we encourage you to warn them about the smearing issue with Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock.
Updated: We are continuing to test new formulas and will update you as we near some resolution for the Basic Black ink formula problems.

Thanks all! And happy stamping!
