Holiday Mini Preview Class

Christmas is almost here!  Oh, wait, maybe not....  But sometimes it sure feels that way!  I love when the new Holiday Mini catalog from Stampin' Up! comes out, because then I can get started on my fall and winter crafting.  Just looking through the pages of the catalog gives me inspiration and boosts my mood for the coming months.

On to the subject of this blog posting: today's class!

Want to see some of the stamp sets, framelits, embossing folders, and more from the new Holiday Mini Catalog before you purchase?  Well, here's your chance!  Tonight, I'm hosting a Holiday Mini Class, where we will make 3 unique projects using products from the new Holiday Mini.  In fact, we'll make these three cards:

It might be a little hard to tell, but the "spooky" stamp is actually embossed with our Iridescent Ice Embossing powder, and it's just glitterly and lovely.  :)  I got the idea for the Halloween card from Michelle Pollard.  The snowman card was inspired by one made by Kristin Kortonick.  Talented ladies, both!  The last is one of my own design.

Here's a little more information on tonight's class:September 10, 2015 (Thursday) 6-8 PM – Holiday Mini Card Class (Date 1 of 2)
Description: Make 3 unique cards using brand new stamp sets from the 2015 Holiday Mini Catalog.  (Items available to purchase September 1, 2015-January 4, 2016.)  Try before you buy!  You will be taught everything you need to know for this event, so no prior knowledge of card creation is necessary.
Fee: $25 minimum catalog order to make 3 special projects
Bring:

• REQUIRED: Your preferred adhesive (Tombo Liquid Glue is best and may be purchased at catalog price at class.)
• RECOMMENDED:
  • Clear-mount blocks
  • Personal cutter and bone folder
  • Paper snips/scissors
  • A friend new to me and to stamping!

• For every one of the above items you bring to class, you'll get 1 ticket in a raffle drawing to be held during class for a free gift. Except for the intricate card in the bottom right corner (inspired by a card Sylvette Harvey made), these are my own creations.  I plan on keeping up the craftiness in the next few days, and hope to have more to share with you.  You'll probably see more of these cards in the some of the blogs of the near future, with some more explanation on products used and how to achieve the same look.  If you can't wait that long, contact me to get a closer picture, and instructions on how to create.

New Clearance Rack Additions

Stampin' Up! let us know today that they have some new additions to their Clearance Rack.  Clearance Rack items are a great way to stock up on cheap DSP (designer series paper), ribbons, and even retired stamp sets and Big Shot products from your favorite company that you missed when they were available.  I'm always in the market for a good deal, and Stampin' Up!'s Clearance Rack gives me bunches to choose from.  Here are some examples that you can find on the rack, (at least at noon today - 9/8/15!)

I've been more than a little remiss lately on classes and website updates, due to some health concerns I've had for the last year.  I've been feeling some better, and am looking forward to all these crafty classes in the next couple of months.  Hope everyone is doing well, and I get a chance to see and play with some new and old friends alike.

New Color Markers

You might have had the new 2013-2014 Idea Book & Catalog (IBC) in your hot little hands for a little over 2 months now, and noticed that Stampin' Up! did a little bit of color renovating for this year.  Several new colors added to the catalog were previous In Colors, with a couple BRAND NEW colors thrown in too.  Now I bet if you're anything like me, you want to update your Many Marvelous Markers kit to include all the new colors.  Stampin' Up! is giving us some options on how to do that before 10/31/13. 

You can, of course, purchase the whole kit and caboodle of the Many Marvelous Markers (all 38 colors in the main color collections) again.  (p.163 - #131264 - $109.95)  Or, you can purchase them by color collection families (p.143-149 - #131259, 131261, 131263, 131262 - $28.95 each - except neutrals for 22.95).  These are good options if you don't yet own the markers, or you're just getting started into the marvelous world that is Stampin' Up!.  Both of these options are going to be available the entire length of the current catalog (until May 31, 2014). 

Stampin' Up! is doing something great for us through the 10/31/13 deadline though.  Purchase either a complete set of JUST the newly added markers this year, or, buy the markers you want individually - say, if you already have all the previous in color markers.

Paper Share from the New Holiday Catalog

I'm going to offer something that I've never done before, a Paper Share.  Hopefully by now, you've managed to look at the new Holiday mini catalog, which is available to order from until January 2, 2014.  Have you seen the fabulous Designer Series Paper (DSP) that the Holiday mini has to offer?  I am absolutely in LOVE with the Winter Frost Specialty DSP listed on pg. 29.  (#132341)

Maybe you're wondering how you could actually use so much paper.  Or maybe you would love to own all 4 new DSP packs, but it's a little out of your budget.  Well, that's where the paper share is going to come in handy.

What happens is, 4 people agree to share the 4 Designer Series packs of paper from the Holiday mini.  What you'll end up receiving, for your share at a cost of $13.00, is 48 different patterned papers that are 6x6" in size. 

The 6x6" size go a long way to making a bunch of cards!  Are you thinking of using the paper for scrapbooking a larger album (say a 12x12")?  Buy two shares at $26.00, and you'll receive 48 patterned papers that are 6x12", so you can use it on projects needing longer spans of paper.
